A two-day workshop introducing the principles and applications of Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) in the context of local geographical communities will take place at Chicago’s DePaul University June 12-13, 2018. “Presentations and discussions will occur in light of current conversations about equity and justice and will enable participants to think deeper about responses to these challenges,” states the event description.

This workshop will explore questions such as how to get local people more involved in your organization’s work, how a community moves toward a wider circle of people collaborating to realize goals and how to make ABCD work in your neighborhood. Course leaders include Melissa Browning, Joe Erpenbeck, Ivis Garcia and Byron White, with John McKnight making a guest presentation.
